ANNUAL REPORT

Esteemed guests of the day, parents, teachers, and my dear children.

A very good morning and my whole hearted warm welcome to one an all present here for the school Annual Day Celebration. With immense gratitude and profound feelings. I raise my heart and mind to the almighty for the abundant blessings he has showered upon this institution, and also on, each one of us.

This institution runs under the guidance and management of the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Kollam.

2019 in particular has been a year of many changes and development for our school. It brought out many challenges and opportunities for learning and growth, thoughtful decisions and ultimate success.

On 6th June 2019 the silent corridors of the school woke up from its 2 months long slumber. The students and teachers made their return with the entry festival which become the best welcome back for all. The class rooms were decorated with balloons and flowers. Almost all parents witnessed the colourful treat. The Headmistress rendered a warm welcome to everyone especially to the new comers of the year. Each and every factor of goodness for the development of students is considered as most important by the school. As a part of it all the curricular and extracurricular activities are planned and practised for the same. In order to create and cultivate physical and mental stability for our children, Sri. Anuraj physical education teacher trains them. I really congratulate him for the efforts to form and build up a football team for our children.

With regard to the curricular development we give more importance to the proper functioning of classes. Besides class tests after each lesson or unit mid term test and terminal examinations are conducted to evaluate the students progress in studies. Answer papers and Report cards are exhibited to be signed by the parents and for their keen evaluation.

Open Houses were conducted immediately after the Terminal examinations. This provides the parents an ample opportunity to understand their academic performances and character formation.

As usual class PTA,s std I to VII were conducted during the month of July and August. Representatives for PTA members were taken from each standards and also former PTA President Mr. Saible Sir is continuing. Their co- operation in the academic and other welfare activities are praise worthy.

The basic development expected from a reputed school by each student is the communication skill. In order to create language command and communicative skill in English we give special attention under the leadership of Smt. Jini John.To educate with out a value system based on truth is to abandon young generation to moral confusion. These stirring words of Pope John Paul II convince us the need for laying a strong spiritual and moral foundation among children. Besides regular academic studies we provide moral support to all the students through moral science classes and catechism classes to catholic students.

School maintains the tradition of participatig in the Holy Mass once in a month is continuing. Besides pupils along with teachers pray Rosary every Friday noon interval time and every day during the month of October. In the month of November they pray daily for the departedsouls.

Keeping in mind the overall development of children, school youth festival was conducted in school level and sub district level. It helped them to unfold their inborn and hidden talents and to foster healthy competition among them. Prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners in the school assembly. We the students and the staff take this opportunity to congratulate them for their excellent performances and extend warm wishes for their bright future.

Sports day had been celebration evoked healthy sports man spirit in the minds of pupis. Winners were appreciated and will be awarded today.

National festivals, important days, cultural festivals, children’s day, onam, teacher’s day were celebrated together with great importance to make children socially unique and a true Indian citizen.

Our students participated in the Superkid scholarship examination and Adikesh of std I A won the 4 star cash award.

Our students participated in the CPP talent scholarship examination students won the cash awards and also students got the medals ,students got the trophy. Cash awards will be given today.

As a part of all round development, we give greater importance in implementing discipline, punctuality and cleanliness.

Christmas were celebrated with great joy and merry making various programmes performed by the students. Spread the fragrance of the Christmas message to all. Our beloved parish priest Rev. Fr. Mary John delivered the Christmas message and cut the Christmas cake. Our PTA president Sri. Saible Sir given X’mas message to our students.

January 23rd our children in Std V TO VII got a sex education class conducted by District Hospital, Kollam.

With countless gratitude we remember our Very Rev. Mother Rexia Mary, our manager and Mother General, Provincial Superior of Kerala Province Rev. Sr. Adolf Mary, the counsellors, Accountant Sr. Xaveria Mary, for their guidance and encouragement with profound happiness and deep gratitude only could we thing of your contributions.

The success and progress of this institution depends on the selfless service of our staff. I thank each one of you and Sr. Reena Mary, Sr. Jisha Mary I convey my great thanks to your sincere co- operation and dedication. Special thanks to Merlin teacher, Juli mole and Liji. And also I convey my great gratitude to our parents, friends, well wishers, PTA president Sri. Saible Sir and executive members. I thank our boarding students especially the Band troop make the function beautifull..

We owe our gratitude to our parish priest Rev.Fr. Mary John for all his spiritual support. I thank our Sr. Superior Sr. Feby Mary and all my sisters in the convent for their support and encouragement.

I would like to conclude this report by thanking God the Almighty for His invisible yet powerful hand in guiding all of us. We seek the blessings of our Blessed Mother Mary and St. Margaret our patron to be showered on all of us and on our institution.
